Cédric Brosseau
Assistant Curator, Agriculture and Environment
Biography
Cédric has a Master’s degree in history from the University of Ottawa and joined Ingenium as an Assistant curator in 2015. He has worked with the Agriculture, Transportation and Communications collections and is now focused the material culture of crop cultivation and animal husbandry. His research centers on the relationship between humans, science, technology and the environment, especially as it regards the evolution of the breeds and plants that have impacted Canada’s heritage.
During the Canada Science and Technology Museum renovation project, Cédric curated the Into the Great Outdoors exhibition, which examines how transportation technology and outdoor activities have shaped experiences and identities in Canada. He collaborated with equity-seeking groups to include their perspectives and represent their contributions to Canada’s technological heritage. Cédric is interested in public history, environmental history, polyvocality, community engagement, collaborative projects and how museums can be more accessible and inclusive for underrepresented groups.
