Research Institute
Where knowledge and creativity collide
The Ingenium Research Institute invites Canadians to expand how they think about science and technology by cultivating a critical understanding of the material culture of our past, present, and future. We explore the many ways that science and technology are embedded in society, culture, and history. Through bold engagement and worldwide collaborations, the Institute is the heart of discovery and innovation, engaging researchers, educators, and the public in new and creative ways.
The Research Institute consists of:
- Research projects that explore the material culture of science and innovation, conservation and preservation, and science communication
- Opportunities for students including a fellowship program, practicum supervision, and internships.
- An adjunct curator program
- Access to Ingenium’s artifact, library, and archival collections
- Collaborative spaces in the Ingenium Centre to put research into practice, such as an artifact examination room, libraries, and workspaces
- Opportunities to engage with Ingenium’s Research Institute team and visitors to our three museums
