Cédric Brosseau

Assistant Curator, Communications and Digital Technologies

Biography

With a master’s in history from the University of Ottawa, Cédric joined Ingenium as an assistant curator in 2015 and since then has worked with the agriculture, transportation, and communications collections. He is currently focused mainly on communications, where he explores how to collect, document, and preserve born-digital objects, or objects that are created in a digital format. In support of the Ingenium Research Institute, Cédric works with various partners and collaborators to organize Truth before reconciliation: Indigenous histories—Ingenium’s STEM virtual speaker series. This series invites Indigenous leaders to share their experiences and relationships with museums, history, science, and technology in what is now known as Canada.

As part of the Canada Science and Technology Museum renovation project, Cédric curated the Into the Great Outdoors exhibition, which examines how transportation technology and outdoor activities have shaped experiences and identities in Canada. To complete this project, he collaborated with equity-seeking groups to include their perspectives and represent their contributions to Canada’s technological heritage. Cédric is interested in public history, polyvocality, community engagement, collaborative projects, and how museums can be more accessible and inclusive for underrepresented groups.
