Collections and research

Ingenium’s national collection materially represents Canada’s rich and diverse history of science, technology, and innovation. The artifacts, archives, and library material in Ingenium’s care are entry points for studying, understanding, and appreciating the complex relationship between science, technology, and society.

Our research initiatives explore the provenance and histories of artifacts, from locomotives to farming equipment, in order to unravel their significance and their impact on society. Each artifact is a storyteller, offering compelling insights into the past, present, and future of innovation in Canada. The collection helps us gain a better understanding of the world around us.

Ingenium is committed to collection access. We invite you to explore, discover, and be inspired by the transformative power of innovation.
