Health in Space: Daring to Explore

How do gravity, radiation, and isolation affect the health of astronauts living and working in space?

In this engaging exhibition–developed and produced by the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in collaboration with the Canadian Space Agency–visitors will learn how important it is to keep astronauts healthy in space. Doctors, scientists, technicians, engineers—and even the astronauts themselves—work together to support the health of men and women working in space, from the time they’re selected until well after their final mission. The exhibition also looks at how space-related discoveries are helping to change medicine back on Earth, and explores the unique health challenges astronauts face.

Highlights include authentic artifacts, interactive experiences, and video interviews with Canadian astronauts. A special section in the exhibition profiles Canadian astronaut and medical doctor David Saint-Jacques, and his mission to the International Space Station.
