Follow the balloon in this virtual field trip! After reading ‘The Blue Balloon’ by Mick Inkpen, your students will set out on a virtual tour to discover a variety of aircraft. At each stop marked by a blue balloon, students will look for 3D shapes within each aircraft structure and count propeller blades. Inspiration and instructions for an optional aircraft inventor’s activity—to build their own flying machines—are included with the program information.
