Biography

Valerie joined Ingenium as the assistant curator of aviation and space in 2021, after completing an MA in public history and a graduate diploma in curatorial studies from Carleton University. She was drawn to museum work because of the opportunities to share diverse and complex histories with the public. Valerie’s work at Ingenium has included research and exhibition development using the aviation and space collections, and most recently assisting with the development of The Cold War exhibition at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. She is also a children’s author, with her book ‘Vee in Between’ having been published in 2023. In all her work, Valerie is passionate about challenging traditional historical narratives by centring the experiences of marginalized peoples.
