Code of conduct
Follow these guidelines to ensure an enjoyable museum experience for all.
All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult when visiting the Canada Aviation and Space Museum.
Visitors are asked not to step over the barriers or touch the collection’s artifacts; however, visitors are encouraged to touch and engage with the museum’s many interactives and props.
Refrain from shouting and disruptive behaviour. Anyone who uses offensive, abusive, or threatening language or behaviour towards any other visitors or museum staff will be asked to leave. Anyone suspected of being intoxicated or under the influence of drugs will be asked to leave.
Wear proper attire while on the museum property. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.
Photography is permitted for personal use only. Please be respectful of visitors and staff while using your camera, and avoid flash photography.
Visitors may not distribute pamphlets or merchandise without pre-approval by museum management.
Pets are not permitted on the museum grounds, however, service animals are permitted.
The museum is smoke-free (including e-cigarettes and vaping). There are designated smoking areas outside where visitors are permitted to smoke.
Eating and drinking is not permitted in any of the exhibitions. There are plenty of designated areas – both inside and outside – to have your lunch or snack. It is prohibited to BBQ or make fires on the museum grounds.
Do not bring any prohibited items into the museum. This includes:
- Any bag exceeding 35cm x 35cm x 15.25cm in size
- Hard-covered briefcases
- Flags, banners, or posters that might obstruct a visitor’s view
- Alcohol and glass bottles
- Chewing gum
- Drones or other similar objects
- Any object that makes noise (bells, horns)
- Fireworks or other pyrotechnical apparatus
- Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, roller skates
- Laser pointers
- Audio visual equipment; i.e., video cameras on tripods (exceptions need preapproval before entry – please contact us at contact@ingeniumcanada.org)
- Weapons of any type
- Any item prohibited under the Criminal Code of Canada
- Any item deemed by Ingenium security to be inappropriate
