About the museum
The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum offers the opportunity to discover innovations in agricultural science and technology, and learn how they impact the lives of Canadians.
The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is located five kilometres from Parliament Hill on the historic Central Experimental Farm. The museum is a working dairy farm and is home to diverse breeds of farm animals important to Canadian agriculture—past and present. Our Dairy Barn was designated as a Federal Heritage Building in 1987.
Our informative and engaging exhibitions tackle key issues of our time, including food literacy and security, sustainable agriculture, Indigenous foodways, and environmental stewardship. Our exhibitions feature artifacts from Ingenium’s collection, which tell important stories of innovation in agriculture and food production.
Through engaging exhibitions, food demonstrations, multi-sensory spaces and memorable animal interactions, visitors to the museum experience innovations in food production through the lens of a working farm.
